We are a non-profit organization that provides support to all patients with Jacobsen Syndrome and other orphaned or rare syndromes, throughout Latin American countries, with five approaches: legal advice, biopsychosocial support to affected patients and families, research, information exchange and therapeutic work with patients and families. Syndrome
Jacobsen syndrome is a disease of contiguous genes with multiple congenital anomalies / mental retardation (MCA / MR) caused by a partial deletion of the long arm of chromosome 11. More than 200 cases have been described so far. A prevalence of 1 / 100,000 births is estimated, with a female / male ratio of 2: 1.
Characteristics
In most affected individuals, the chromosome has broken at the level of the bands called 11q23 or 11q24

The attention required by those who suffer from the syndrome, are of the utmost importance since they are special and determining for their good health

The clinical manifestations of Jacobsen syndrome are related to the genes included in the fragment of chromosome 11 that is lost
